Privacy Lab will be hosting TA3M events every 3rd Monday evening of each month at MakeHaven. Come to New Haven’s own makerspace and learn more about digital self-defense, collaborate on tech projects, and bounce ideas off of each other about techno-activism related to censorship, surveillance, Free and Open-Source Software, Open Hardware, and Free Culture in general.
Techno-Activism Third Mondays (TA3M) is an informal meetup designed to connect creators, technologists and activists. TA3M events are held all over the world and are explicitly informal and open. You are invited to hack the process, ask questions, and be critical.
NHv TA3M 000: FreedomBox & Raspberry Pi
This event is a follow-up from our Privacy Lab Skillshare on September 16. For our inaugural TA3M, we’ll be looking at mini-server projects such as FreedomBox (using hardware like the Raspberry Pi). What can affordable mini-servers on open hardware do for New Haven? Where does MakeHaven fit in? Yale? Other schools and organizations?
